On Friday before the half term, our Year 4 girls had a very special Egypt day – a fun and exciting workshop to learn all about this incredible civilization.
The girls were allowed to dress up and we had some amazing costumes including egyptian princesses and archaeologist from the early 1900s. The workshop leader, Lauren, was wonderfully enthusiastic, full of energy and very funny. She really got the girls happy to join in and curious about what was coming next.
After a bit of history about Ancient Egypt, the girls got to take part in a variety of activities including a typical Egyptian board game which they played in pairs, and a fun quiz. Undoubtedly the most popular part was a mummification demo (don’t worry, no one was hurt during this reenactment!), followed by the burial parade.
What a great, fun way to learn.
