22nd July 19
Last week was week 1 of our special Summer Holiday fun for 2-4 year olds. Each school holiday, parents of girls in our Little Malties Day Care and Nursery can book their daughter in from 7.30am until 6.30pm. We only close for 3 weeks per year!
This summer we’re focusing on a different theme each week and the theme for last week was ‘going on holiday’.
First of all the girls needed passports, so they got creative and made them. Next, they visited the travel agent and took part in a role play to organise their holiday. Soon, it was time to go to the airport where they got checked in and took it in turn to used the security scanners. On the plane, they listened to the safety demonstration and then their pilot took them up, up and away!
The girls travelled to the airport to get a plane to a different country every day. They visited China, where they made pom pom patterns using tweezers; Africa, where they read the book ‘Handa’s Surprise’ and tasted the exotic fruits from the book, as well as made African necklaces; India, where they painted tiger pictures and made Rangoli sand pictures; Spain, where they painted the Spanish flag and listened to Spanish music; and finally took a trip to London where they painted red double decker buses and made a choo-choo train!
Wow! What a busy week they had! This week they’re going on a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Together, they’ll make delicious
sandwiches before heading into the woods to find the bears!
