6th November 20
Each term our Early Years girls come together to enjoy a special themed WOW morning. This term, though the coronavirus has caused us to change the way we run the WOW morning, it didn’t hold us back from giving the girls a fun, educational and vibrant celebration of this year’s theme – you guessed it, FIREWORKS!
In small groups, the girls worked their way round different activity stations, taking part in a number of fun, firework activities. On one station, they joined Mrs Webb for an explosion of colour as they saw not magic, as many of the girls wanted to believe, but science at work creating foaming, fizzing bubbles of colours, like those we see in the night sky on November the 5th. This was definitely the favourite activity among the girls.
They also got to be creative, using shapes of coloured paper to create rockets and rolling colourful playdough into firework patterns. The girls loved getting messy with paints too. Using a carefully cut toilet roll dipped into vibrant paints, they made fantastic firework pictures to take home.
In and amongst all the fun, the girls were practicing their motor control, their coordination and their creativity. They were learning about different materials, colour and shape and they even learnt about firework safety too.
Another fabulous, successful WOW morning for the girls.
