Parents become members of the FOMG when their daughter joins the school. The FOMG is an association for parents and staff with three main aims. The first is to organise social events for parents and staff; the second is to assist the class representatives (volunteer parents) to work as effective advocates for all parents; and the third is to raise funds for the charities which the school supports, as well as to purchase equipment to enhance the girls’ learning environment. Some of the items the FOMG have been able to provide include precision made hand-bells for our Maltman’s Belles, a Clarinova and other musical instruments, gymnastics equipment and facilities in the Lapraik Hall, such as AV equipment and stadium seating.
FOMG events include the ever popular Christmas Fair, the parents Quiz Night and Maltfest – the summer weekend camp-out. Events are well attended, helping parents connect with each other and fostering a warm and welcoming school community.
The FOMG also run a well stocked second hand uniform shop where you can usually buy everything on the uniform list at half price or much less.
